The Office of Academic Affairs of the Silk Rod University of Tourism and Cultural Studies is very pleased to announce that our lecturer and PhD candidate FARUKH SHUKUROV has been selected by the Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst (DAAD), Germany’s most distinguished academic research exchange programme, to receive a research fellowship beginning in March of this year. DAAD is a highly competitive program hat exists to extend Germany’s premier research model through partnerships with other countries. Only three other candidates were selected for the honour, candidates being chosen from the leading academic origins in the country the basis of a research statement of interest and purpose and academic achievement. It is also significant for DAAD to select a candidate from a young university, which speaks well of our growing reputation and potential for further research development in the eyes of the Foundation. Farukh will be part of an experienced research team headed by Professorin Dr Kerla Tilman of the University’s department of Computer and information Sciences. The Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst was founded in 1925 in Bonn, and is the largest German support organization in the field of international academic co-operation.
