On June 25, 2024, according to the decree of the President of Uzbekistan dated January 12, 2024, about "Increasing the flow of tourists and the prestige of our country by widely promoting the study of the history and culture of Uzbekistan, the Uzbek language and literature in foreign countries as part of the implementation of the Decision "On additional measures for further development", the representatives of our university, the head of the "Languages and Global Studies" department, Ph.D., Assoc. Tolkin Sultanov and the professor of the department Joliboy Eltazarov visited the Society of Turkestans in Istanbul, negotiated about organizing Uzbek language and culture classes for the youth of the Uzbek diaspora, and increasing the flow of tourists to the historical Motherland from among the many thousands of Turkestans in the Republic of Turkey. Last year, in September, a group of members of the Istanbul Turkestan community came to our country, and preliminary meetings were held with them at our university, and issues of cooperation were discussed.The representatives of our university were welcomed by the Chairman of the Board of Management of the Society, Akbar Yassa and its members, poet Mehmet Sharhan, Ismail Jengiz, and introduced to the recently commissioned building of the Society and the national-cultural activities carried out by the society.The Istanbul Turkestan Society was established in the 1930s by the first Uzbek emigrants who fled the tyranny of the Soviet government, and has been operating since 1954 in a well-known and famous building in the Oksaroy neighborhood of Istanbul, which was recently rebuilt. The society has established close relations with the Motherland and the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Turkey, where the children of our second and third generation compatriots are taught the Uzbek language and culture, Uzbek customs and traditions. Based on the agreements reached between the society and our university last year, books and albums on Uzbek language and literature, Uzbek culture and history, and national crafts were donated to the society.According to the request of the Board of the Society, starting from September of this year, distance Uzbek language classes will be organized by the best pedagogues-teachers of our university for the children of the members of the Society of Turkestans, cooperation in the field of culture and education will be continued in various forms.At the end of the meeting, the members of the Society thanked the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Tourism Committee and the authorities of Silk Road International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritag.
