On May 22, 2024, a literary and educational event was held at "Silk Road" International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage as part of the project "Education Connects". It was attended by Adib Nurulla Choriev and Sardor Khamrayev, members of the Union of Writers of Uzbekistan. A literary and art conference was held with the participation of writers and students. During the event, students enjoyed poetic works, fiction.
On May 21 of this year in the student dormitory of the university, tutor Sabina Abbasova held an event aimed at spending free time of female students and cooking Uzbek national dishes.
The purpose of this event was to teach students to cook national dishes of our people, which have been prepared since ancient times, and to prepare students and girls for independent life. In the process of the event, valuable recommendations and information, such as the technology of cooking soms, kitchen rules, rational use of products, observance of cleanliness, were given to the students.
The event "Day of Cultural Exchange" was organized by Elena Salnikova, lecturer of the Department of Tourism of the "Silk Road" International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage. Local and foreign students and teachers and specialists were invited to the event. As part of the event, students performed songs and dances of different nationalities.

On May 21-27, within the framework of Turkish Cuisine Week, Mr. Salih Janer, Consul General of the Consulate General of the Republic of Turkey in Samarkand held a meeting with the students of our university. The event was organized by N. Abduvokhidova, Head of the Youth Department of the University. As it is known, gastronomic tourism occupies an important place in the sphere of tourism. The guest has a desire to enjoy their national dishes, no matter what state they are in. At the event there was a presentation of national dishes, juices, salads and desserts from the book “Turkish Cuisine” published by the Ministry of Tourism of Turkey by Mr. Salih Janer, with detailed information about their history, origin, preparation. The administration of our university awarded Mr. Salih Caner and his team with a certificate from the Consul General of the Consulate General of the Republic of Turkey in Samarkand for their contribution to improving cooperation. At the end of the event, the participants tasted Turkish national cuisine.
A delegation from the prestigious Qingdao University (China) visited “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage. During the visit a dialog was held, during which the prospects of mutual cooperation and exchange of experience were discussed. Also during the dialogue, special attention was paid to the initiative to organize internship for students of our university at the Qingdao University.
At the meeting 10 students of our university were given the opportunity to study at Qingdao University in China for a year within the framework of the program “Shandong Provincial Government Scholarship for Foreign Students sister cities”. This important event will create new opportunities for our students to improve their knowledge and skills and strengthen the friendship ties between our universities.

Today the interest in tourism education in our country is growing day by day. A bright example of this is the daily visit of school graduates to our university.
During the past weeks 1 IDUM of Samarkand, 29, 47, 33, 14, 63, 64, 71 students of 11th grades of high schools visited our university and carefully familiarized with the conditions created for students. The students received detailed information from O. Rustamov, Head of Admissions and Marketing Department, with information about the opportunities of our university, about the prospects of future specialist in the field of tourism and cultural heritage. After that, a round table was organized between the school graduates and foreign teachers teaching at our university.
The Sports Club of the "Silk Road" International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage organized chess classes 2 times a week in order to identify special talents in the field of sport among pupils.

R.Ruhshona, assistant lecturer of the Department of Tourism at "Silk Road" International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage and doctoral student of the university, presented a lecture on "Sustainable Tourism Practices" at HTWG Konstanz University of Applied Sciences, ranked 478th in the QS World University Rankings - 2024 of the International Agency. During the lecture, information was presented about the work carried out on the development of sustainable tourism in Uzbekistan, about green economy and its inextricable link with sustainable tourism. Importantly, this lecture attracted great interest among the audience, as well as a lot of discussion and debate.
