On April 19 to 22 of this year, a major academic forum was held in Quanzhou, China, over 120 scholars in the fields of tourism and cultural heritage from more than 30 universities and institutions from China and other countries attended this forum. The forum was on the topic "The Second "Dialogue between Camel Bells and Sail Shadows" Silk Road Tourism Development and Mutual Learning of Civilizations". The scientific forum was held at Huaxiao University, and Tony Zou, Vice Rector of Science and Innovation of "Silk Road International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage" also participated and delivered a speech. In his speech, the professor of our university became notable for talking about the origin of the concept of "Silk Road" and its history, and also clarified some misunderstandings by summarizing the opinions of European, Indian and Chinese scholars about it.

These days, as part of five important initiatives launched by our President, an excursion to historical monuments of our city was organized to organize the free time of our young students in a meaningful way and to interest them in further study of our history. 

Basically, a group of first-year students visited the mausoleum of Amir Temur to have a closer acquaintance with the heritage inherited from our ancestors.

   

Various events and roundtables are organized in the student dormitory of our university. One of such round tables was recently organized for first year students. At the meeting Zilola Adizova, endocrinologist, doctor of Gedeon Rixtor Limited Liability Company in Samarkand, closely communicated with the students. In the process of communication, the specialist answered questions of interest, while giving the students her recommendations.

Akmaljon Odilov, Head of the Tourism Department of “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage and Saodat Jalolova, Associate Professor of the Department, received a certificate from the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan for the program “Studying the Impact of Digitalization of the Catalog of Tourism Objects of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Tourism Development”.

O. Nabiev, senior lecturer of the department of “Languages and Global Studies” of our university, held a seminar and a round table on “Modern methods of teaching foreign languages” and “Guiding students to a profession” for teachers and students of Margilon Technical University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage under “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage. At these events, he gave his recommendations on what to pay more attention to when teaching foreign languages by our teacher and answered the teachers' questions. Notably, our teacher presented to the library of Margilan Technical School of Tourism and Cultural Heritage the book “French-Uzbek and Uzbek-French phrasebooks for tourists” by T. Sultanov and Z. Eshmurodova.

Khusen Ibragimov, a young and active lecturer of “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, took an active part in the II International Seminar “Unchanging Energy and Sustainable Tourism” held at the university of Aveiro, Portugal, with his scientific research on defining the foundations of sustainable tourism in 200 countries of the world in the period 1995-2023.

In addition, our lecturer also participated in seminars organized at the University of Alicante, Spain. Due to his active participation in international seminars as well as his scientific research, our teacher was one of the first in Central Asia to be accepted as a researcher in a doctoral research project funded by the university of Aveiro.

On April 23 of the current year, the first vice-rector of “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage D. Nasimov met with young people included in the “youth notebook” in Samarkand city mahalla “Semurg” in order to ensure the implementation of the state program of tasks set in the strategy of the President of Uzbekistan-2030 from February 21, 2024 and the year of support for youth and business.

At the meeting, the first vice-rector of our university was interested in the lifestyle, interests and plans for the future of young people. At the same time, the youth of the mahalla also told about the problems, plans that plague them.

For example, a resident of this mahalla, N. Musaev, a student of the 11th grade of a secondary school, told about his participation in the art game circle and expressed his desire to attend the circle to improve his skills in it. M. Israilova, who is registered in the youth book of the mahalla, told that she has one child and wants to learn the profession of a hairdresser. At the meeting all young people talked about their dreams, desires and plans.

The staff of our university outlined the necessary measures to provide practical assistance in working with responsible organizations in solving the problems of young people in this mahalla.

This academic year, out of 64 international students at our university, 59 are studying at the direction of postgraduate studies, 5 are full-time part-time bachelor's degree students.

The work of our university with international students is aimed at timely elimination of their problems and support of their proposals and initiatives through constant dialog. In this regard, today, on April 23, a meeting of the First Vice-Rector for Administrative Affairs, Professor D. Nasimov, with foreign students studying in the direction of master's degree at our university was organized.

At the meeting information was given about the work carried out at the university, plans for the future. In the course of open and sincere dialog, necessary instructions and instructions were given to those responsible for taking into account the opinions and questions of foreign students and necessary measures.

On April 19 of the current year, a delegation headed by the director of the Research Institute of Turkology of the International Kazakh-Turkish University named after Hodja Ahmad Yassaviy, Professor Dr. Bulent Bayram visited the university.

During the meeting with Professor Dilmurod Nasimov, First Vice-Rector for Administrative Affairs of the University, they discussed issues of further development of bilateral areas of cooperation and signing of the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan at the International Kazakh-Turkish University named after Khoja Ahmad Yassaviy dated January 12, 2024 "On the history and culture of Uzbekistan in foreign countries", reached an agreement on the establishment of a new department of "Uzbek Studies" in order to ensure the implementation of the Decree № PP-19 "On additional measures for the development of the Uzbek Studies Department". At the meeting, Prof. Bulent Bayram noted that universities of Turkey will also provide their practical assistance in the creation of this department.

On April 22 of this year, Lecturer Mahmud Emam of "Silk Road" International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage of Samarkand held a seminar on "Exchange of cultural heritage along the Silk Road and its reflection in the architecture of China and Uzbekistan" at the Khiva Technical School of Tourism and Cultural Heritage.
