The fund of the Department of Turkology and Turkic languages of our Library has been replenished with new books

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to the Republic of Uzbekistan, Mr.Olgan Bekar, during a recent visit to Samarkand, met with the first Vice-Rector of the "Silk Road" International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage professor J.Eltazarov.

During the meeting, Mr.Olgan Bekar handed over several dictionaries of the Turkic language, bibliographic indexes, as well as the book of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sh.M.Mirziyoyev "New Uzbekistan" translated into Turkish language.

Today, the first vice-rector handed over to the university Library this collection of books, as well as several dissertations and abstracts from his personal collection.

Below we will briefly talk about these books:

  • Şevket Mirziyayev. Yeni Özbekistan geleceği büyük devlet. Şahlanan Özbekistan; köklü tarih, aydınlık gelecek. T.C. Kültür ve Turizm Bakanlığı. -İstanbul, 2020. This book, which includes the texts and messages of our esteemed President to the Oliy Majlis in recent years, speeches in the chambers of the Parliament of the Republic, speeches at International meetings, including at the Summits of the Turkic Council and organizations of Turkic states. The book gives the Turkish public and readers a complete picture of the reform processes and updates taking place in our country.
  • Türkiye dışındaki Türkler bibliografiyasi. I-II.cilt. This two-volume book was published in 1992, but still has not lost its scientific value. This rare bibliographic source lists 10,848 sources about the language, literature, history, culture, art, ethnography, and press of the Turkic peoples living outside the Turkish Republic - from the Republic of Yakutia to the Balkan Peninsula, from the Volga-Ural Region to the Hindu Kush, Turkestan, East Turkestan, Crimea and Europe.

This two-volume work is the result of 30 years of research by Turkish scientists, which will greatly help scientists and specialists engaged in research in various fields of Turkology.

On behalf of the Administration and the teaching staff of our University, we express our gratitude to Mr.Olgan Bekar, who presented these rare books.
