Today, March 15, in order to ensure the implementation of the decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan IP-19 dated January 12, 2024 on the wide promotion of the Uzbek language among foreign students, a literary evening with the participation of members of the regional branch of the Union of Writers was held in the information and resource centre of our university. The event, which was attended by our foreign and domestic students, was attended by M. Abbasova, the chairperson of the women's council of our university, headed by the president. The event was initially attended by Zulfiyakhanim, an eminent artist, a student of Samarkand and today he is one of the members of the regional branch of the Union of Writers. Karimova spoke at length about the role and importance of the Uzbek language in literature. Then a member of the regional branch of the Union of Writers, poet E. Makhmudova read and delivered from her praise poems about her homeland and the Uzbek language. Also at the event, Head of the Department of Languages and Global Studies of our university, Associate Professor T. Sultanov told about the establishment of the department at our university for the implementation of the decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan PP-19 of 12 January 2024 and consistent work in this direction.
At the event, talented students performed and showed an excerpt from Kadiri's work "Days Gone By" by a famous writer of the Uzbek nation. Our students also read their creative works at the event. The event was memorable because it was organised at a high level and made a great impression on all international students.
