Today, on November 1, 2020, a race-running was held in Samarkand as a part of the "Samarkand Half Marathon" charity.

Samarkand Half Marathon is an annual charity race organized by the Foundation for the development of culture and art in collaboration with the Ministry of culture, the State Committee for Tourism Development and the Government (Khakimiat) of the Samarkand region.

It is noteworthy that the Chairman of the organizing Committee of the “Samarkand Half Marathon” is the Rector of the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism, Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the State Committee for Tourism Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan - Aziz Abdukhakimov, who took a direct part in today's race.

In addition, the khokim of the Samarkand region Erkinjon Turdimov, as well as prominent artists and famous athletes took part in the race.

Our students and University staff also contributed to the charity race.

All funds raised from the "Samarkand Half Marathon" will be used to create a children's art studio in one of the boarding schools in Uzbekistan for children with autism. In addition, educational lectures and seminars are planned for everyone. They will help people understand how diverse the world of people with autism is.
