TIKA has completed workshop at the “Silk Road” IUT

On April 5-9, 2021 the Turkish Agency for International Cooperation and Coordination (TIKA), in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, organized workshop on current approaches in tourism education at the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism.

The seminars were attended by the teaching staff of the University, as well as teachers of colleges, and technical schools, and masters of industrial training under the Ministry of Tourism and Sports. The workshop was conducted by such experienced specialists of the Turkish Agency for Cooperation and Coordination (TIKA) as Ersumer Eren, Omer Gunay and Isa Kelesh.

In accordance with the program of the workshop, detailed information was provided on topical issues such as: the general structure of vocational education in the field of tourism in Turkey, practices related to tourism education in European countries, analysis of the current situation in educational institutions of hotel management and tourism also distance learning in Turkey, measures of the fight against coronavirus pandemic, the practice of vocational education, trends in the development of gastronomic tourism. The workshop was held in the interactive mode in the form of round tables, discussions and exchange of views.

On the grand final day, the participants of the workshop were awarded special certificates. According to the information of organizers, the second stage of the workshop is planned to be held in Turkey.
