On December 10-11 this year, the city of Bukhara hosted the "First International Youth Tourism Forum".

The fact that the tourism industry is the most dynamically developing and promising sector of our country's economy is reflected in our society. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev intends to raise youth policy to the level of national importance and make it more widely used in all spheres. Training of young highly qualified specialists for the tourism industry is an urgent problem. If we take into account the proportion of young people involved in tourism, it is important to create opportunities and conditions for them.

The prestigious event held in ancient Bukhara was a prelude to these good deeds. The forum was organized on the initiative Of the Department for tourism development of the Bukhara region and in cooperation with the State Committee for tourism development of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Khokimiyat of the Bukhara region, embassies of Uzbekistan abroad and a number of organizations.

The forum was attended by more than twenty foreign delegates in an online format. The event was broadcast live in these countries. Presentations were made by ten international experts in the field of tourism. In particular, effective and constructive presentations were made by representatives of France, Singapore, Kazakhstan, Indonesia, Malaysia and Israel.

Students of the "Silk Road" International University of Tourism also took part in the Forum and stood out among other participants for their activity, initiative and unique creative approach. Our students, who defended the honor of our University, were divided into groups of five people and made presentations on five areas of the forum program. Some of the working groups' presentations sparked heated discussions.

The second day of the forum was dedicated to the award ceremony for the best presentations. It is gratifying that students of the "Silk Road" International University of Tourism took first place in four of the five areas presented ("Individual tourism areas", "Tourism and media", "Tourism and start-up projects", "Education and tourism", "tourism Development in the post-pandemic period"), which provided them with an absolute victory. A huge event was the fact that Saidov Abdullo, a 3rd-year student of the faculty of tourism Management (in areas of activity), was elected the tourism Ambassador of the Bukhara region. At the end of the forum, all participants were awarded certificates.

The forum was rich in new creative ideas, projects and outlined long-term plans in the field of tourism, proving that tourism and youth are a single concept.

❗️ Official statement

For the first time in Uzbekistan, starting from the 2021-2022 academic year, the students of the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism will be provided with modern educational standards, so students will be able to choose two academic specialties – “major” and “minor”!

From the third year, students of the “Silk Road” University can choose as a secondary any academic specialty within the faculty where they study, or any other specialty from the 3 new faculties that will be opened in the next 2021-2022 academic year.

For example, if the "major" field of study is "Marketing in tourism", the "minor" academic specialty may be the study of the Korean language. This opportunity will help prevent unemployment in the tourism sector and create a competitive labour force in the labour market.

First of all, we congratulate the students on their candidacy for the presidency of the Students’ Parliament!

There is not much time left to write an election program, and we, the press service of the University, have prepared a small selection of tips that will help you prepare a truly high-quality program for a candidate For President of the Students’ Parliament.

A list of must-have tips that you need to include in your program:

  1. Brief information about yourself, in which you should tell about your past experience of volunteering or project activities (if you have, of course). It’s a good idea to mention your interests and values
  2. Indicate what priority problems students have that you can solve. It would be a great move if the candidate presents a plan to deal with these issues
  3. Do not hesitate to share your achievements with the public – this is necessary so that voters understand the approximate vector of future activities and the potential of the candidate
  4. Be sure to prepare a motivational speech. Tell us why you are running for President of the Students’ Parliament. Do you have a lot of free time? Or is there a desire to help each student? A sense of unfulfilled duty pushed you to this deed? Yes, the deed!
  5. And the most important thing that should be in any election program – it is your real and adequate suggestions and ideas. What exactly do you want to change and who will benefit from it?

And the last thing we want to advise each candidate: be careful when planning your program and do not throw words to the wind!

Don’t forget that all of the above are just tips. Opinions may differ, but we will only be happy if our advice helps you prepare a truly strong election program!

Good luck, future President of the Students’ Parliament of the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism!
