On November 2 of this year, the legendary hockey player of the 80s, and today the Chairman of the State Duma Committee of the Russian Federation on Physical Culture and Sports, Tourism and Youth Affairs Vyacheslav Fetisov visited our university. Rector of “Silk Road” University of Tourism A.Abdukhakimov met the guest of honor and had a dialogue. During the dialog they talked about the work that is being carried out in our country today in the field of tourism, about the infrastructure being created and about cooperation with the Russian state in this direction. It was noted that the number of visitors coming to our country this year has increased one more time than in previous years, and it is expected that next year this figure will amount to ten million. The attractiveness of our country in the field of tourism has not left the citizens of the Russian state indifferent. This can be seen in the number of Russians visiting our country. Also during the dialog Vyacheslav Fetisov, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Physical Culture and Sports, Tourism and Youth Affairs, said that historical monuments, conditions created in tourism are a huge opportunity for the development of this sphere in the Republic of Uzbekistan and there are still many tasks that can be solved between the two countries. Then Vyacheslav Fetisov, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Physical Culture and Sports, Tourism and Youth Affairs, took a close look at the activities of our university, where specialists in the field of tourism are trained, organized on the initiative of our honorable President.
On October 26 of this year in the branch of the Russian State Oil and Gas University in Tashkent Pirnazar Islamov, an experienced tutor of our university, took part in the seminar-training on “Organization of the activity of tutors”.
At the seminar there were presentations of speakers on “Directions of organization of activity of tutors”, where opinions on responsibilities, aims and tasks of tutors, directions of activity were expressed.
In addition, the seminar provided detailed information on reliance on more than 30 normative-legal documents in order to implement the activities of a tutor, model of his activity, professional competencies, technologies of organization and conduct of work, mechanism of work with parents.
Also, the director of the Research Institute “Mahalla and Family” under the Ministry of Support of Mahalla and Family of the Republic of Uzbekistan N.Egamberdiyeva gave a lecture on “Organization of interaction between family and community organizations in universities, the content of educational work carried out with female students”.
Among the teams of direction coordinators and university students of Samarkand region of the Youth Union a competition “Zakovat” was organized.
According to the results of the organized competition, the team “Silk Road” of “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage took the 1st place, the team “Ligeon” of Samarkand Institute of Economics and Service took the 2nd place, and the team “Gambit” of Samarkand branch of Muhammad Al-Khwarizmi Tashkent University of Information Technologies took the 3rd place.
At the end of the competition, D.Azizova, Chairperson of the Samarkand Regional Council of the Union of Youth of Uzbekistan, presented souvenirs to the winning teams.
Classes are organized in conjunction with practice at the Department of “Tourism Management”. The teacher of the department, Charos Makhmadiyeva, organized a practical workshop with students in the “Food products and wine tourism” lesson.
The Department of “Tourism Management” organized a guest lecture on the topic “High level of service for guests” for students studying in the direction of “Restaurant Business Management”.
Expert - regional director of “Soft Business Group” Khurshed Khodjiev introduced students to the capabilities of the R_keeper program for automating the HoReCa industry. Students, as future restaurateurs, managers, heads of enterprises learned about the available tools for managing a restaurant, warehouse and production, and also became familiar with innovative technological solutions for organizing the efficient work of restaurant staff and managing guest loyalty. In particular, it was possible to get acquainted with an electronic menu, an intelligent event video monitoring system for the cash register area, an automatic table reservation system, a system for remote monitoring of restaurant operations, a delivery service automation system and others.

Practical training for students of our university was organized in the hotel “Hilton Garden Inn” in Samarkand. Together with the general manager of the hotel Dmitry Karpov the students familiarized with the guest area, fitness center, conference halls and hotel rooms. The general manager of the hotel spoke about the responsibilities of each department, rules and goals of the hotel. There was also a presentation on “Organization of Events in Hospitality”.
