On October 2 of this year, the head of the department for work with youth and events of the international university of tourism and cultural heritage "Silk Road" N.Abduvakhidova organized an event for first-year students of the university called "the Аoundation of New Uzbekistan". During the event, students were provided with information about the place and role of education and science in the formation and development of the new Uzbekistan, about modern trends in reforming the education system, about the practical application of world experience and its results. The event also talked about the ongoing reforms in the field of education and science in the new Uzbekistan.

As defined in the Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated July 12, 2024 "On expanding the work on studying, promoting and perpetuating the memory of our compatriots who became victims of political repression", from the new academic year of the current year, the Victims of Repression will be included in the "Lessons of Independence" at our university, including trainings dedicated to representatives of the Jadidist movement. In addition, under the slogan "Historical memory, spirituality and spiritual education are the basis of the New Uzbekistan", as defined in the program, meetings of three generations, events on the topic of memory and gratitude will be organized.

In accordance with the order of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. 211 dated June 14, 2024, and the Regulations on Postgraduate Education, paragraph 3, subparagraphs 16, 18, and 19, the following individuals are eligible for admission to research traineeships and base doctorate programs:

  • Holders of a master’s degree or those who have completed clinical residency (for medical sciences), or those with a higher education diploma (specialty programs).
  • Those who possess a national or internationally recognized certificate confirming their foreign language proficiency at least at the C1 level for foreign language specialties, B2 level for humanities, biological and related sciences, mathematics and statistics, business and management, law, service sectors, social and behavioral sciences, journalism and information, information and communication technologies, and B1 level for other educational fields, as well as culture and sports specialties.

For admission to the Doctorate program, the following documents are required: (Full-time study)

  • Application;
  • National or international certificate confirming foreign language proficiency;
  • Brief biographical information;
  • Copy of the labor book certified according to the established procedure (for employed candidates);
  • Copy of the diploma of higher education, Candidate of Sciences, or Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or an equivalent scientific degree obtained in a foreign country;
  • Scientific report on the research topic and a detailed draft of the dissertation plan for obtaining the degree of Doctor of Sciences (DSc);
  • List of published scientific works and their copies.

For Independent Research, the following documents are required: (Part-time study)

  • Brief biographical information;
  • Copy of the diploma for a master's degree, clinical residency (for medical sciences), or higher education (specialty program) for official registration as an independent researcher for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD);
  • Copy of the labor book certified according to the established procedure;
  • List of scientific works and their copies;
  • Copy of the diploma for the degree of Candidate of Sciences or Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), or an equivalent scientific degree obtained in a foreign country, for official registration as an independent researcher for the degree of Doctor of Sciences (DSc);
  • Recommendation letter from the workplace.

Selection for independent researchers is conducted based on an interview in the third month of each quarter and the corresponding conclusion of the admissions committee at the educational institution.

Documents should be prepared in PDF format and submitted from September 15 to October 15, 2024, through the Unified Electronic System for Coordinating Postgraduate Education (https://daraja.ilmiy.uz). Entrance exams will be held from November 1-25, 2024.

Now, in front of the building of our university, a wonderful library has been established. The library stores various fiction books written by foreign and local authors. Residents and young people have the opportunity to use it widely. The aim of this is to widely promote reading among our people. All readers can use this library. Exercise after classes on warm spring days is not only a pleasure for a person, but also a guarantee of health. Ostonov Utkir Yangiboyevich - defends PhD dissertation on “DEVELOPMENT OF RURAL TOURISM AND IMPROVEMENT OF ORGANIZATIONAL AND ECONOMIC MECHANISMS” in the direction 08.00.17 – “Tourism and hotel activities” at the scientific council DSc.33/01.02.2022.I.145.01 under “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage on April 27 at 10.30 pm.

Members of the delegation led by Sheikh Fahim ibn Sultan Ol Qasimi, Executive Chairman of the government of the Emirate of the UAE Sharjah, who were guests in our country these days, in particular in ancient and ever-young Samarkand, visited “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage on April 18. The delegation was fully informed about the history of the University and its activities today, working on training specialists in the field of tourism, the Academy of Tourism. by the rector of our University Aziz Abduhakimov. Guests got acquainted with the conditions and opportunities created for the educational process at the University. The members of the delegation were very impressed by the activities of various works of Art organized at our university, the National Gallery of Costumes, laboratories in the field of tourism, the library, and the gym.

I was very impressed by the “Silk Road”  International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage in Samarkand. I was shocked to see the works of art with a very high spiritual value, and my interest grew even more. The conditions and opportunities created for foreigners and local students on the modern campus are a sign of the even brighter future of the tourism industry.  

For information, the opening of the exhibition of archaeological findings of the emirate of Sharjah was held on April 18 at The Art Residence at “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage in Samarkand, the executive chairman of the government of the Emirate of Sharjah Sheikh Fahim ibn Sultan Ol Qasimi, the Minister of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change Aziz Abdukhakimov, General Director of Sharjah Archeology Department Eisa Yusuf, representatives of the UAE delegation, local experts participated in the exhibition.

On 18 April of this year, a table tennis competition among students was organised jointly with the Council of the University of the Youth Union of Uzbekistan and the sports training department of our university.

The organised competitions were full of interesting competitions and the winning participants were awarded by the organisers.
