On May 25 of this year, within the framework of five important initiatives, as well as the Girl’s circle “Culinary Secrets” by the head of the Department for inter-mahalla work with youth and organization of events N. Abduvakhidova and the Chairman of the Women’s Council of the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage – M. Abbasova was organized a master class on cooking the national dish “tukhum barak”.
Together with the talented girls of the University, N. Abduvakhidova held a cooking lesson for members of the “Kizlarjon” club.
At the event, the students were shown in detail the entire process of preparing tukhum barak. Also, while cooking, Abduvakhidova N. shared her knowledge about the history of Uzbek national dishes.
“If you collect all the recipes of Uzbek cuisine together, you get a real atlas of Uzbekistan, with all its ethno-cultural colors, traditions and characteristics of the indigenous people of each region separately,” – emphasized the Chairman of the Women's Council M. Abbasova.
Tukhum barak is an original dish of Uzbek cuisine, which is prepared exclusively in the Khorezm region. In fact, tukhum barak are square-shaped dumplings with a egg filling.
As the participants of this master class noted, “... the taste of tukhum baraks is incomparable with anything. The filling is tenderness itself! Thanks to butter and milk, it acquires juiciness. Light meal. And very nutritious!”
