Opening of the Indonesian hub

On 5 May this year, the opening and rebranding ceremony of the Indonesian hub was held at “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage. There were representatives from more than 8 Indonesian universities, with a total of 60 people attending this ceremony.

The Indonesian Hub is an institution designed to provide a wide range of information on cooperation and interaction activities in various fields, as well as other activities in which both sides are involved. These activities are expected to be beneficial for both countries, Indonesia and Uzbekistan. This platform will serve for cooperation, improved relations as well as academic cooperation between Indonesia and Uzbekistan.

Gunadarma University has provided a start-up grant of $5,000 to Silk Road International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage to establish the Indonesian centre in order to improve its facilities.

The guests of honour were welcomed by the Vice-rector of Innovation and Commerce, Professor Tony Zou. Prof. Tony Zou mentioned in his speech that global academic partnerships are very important for improving education. Thus universities should expand partnerships with different universities in different regions of the world. A close partnership in both teaching and research also helps the university to gain international recognition.

Dr Pastianti Nourvardani, head of the Ministry of Education delegation, said that languages as part of culture, with their complex implications for identity, communication, social inclusion, education and development, are of strategic importance for people and the planet. There is growing awareness that languages play a vital role in development, not only in ensuring cultural diversity and intercultural dialogue, but also in ensuring quality education for all, strengthening cooperation, building inclusive knowledge societies and preserving cultural heritage.

As part of the ceremony, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage and Indonesian universities, in particular Krisnadwipayana University, Universitas Dian Nusantara, Lspr Institute Of Communication & Business, Indonesia, Universitas Esa Unggul, Indonesia, Universitas Muhammadiyah Jakarta, Bhayangkara Jakarta Raya University, Indonesia.

It is worth noting that the opening of this hub was organised on the initiative of Indonesia’s Gunadarma University at our international university, whose rector is the Indonesian Ambassador for Tourism to the Republic of Uzbekistan.

We would like to thank Fatima Bakhramkulova and Zukhra Bakhramkulova, active members of the “Leader girls” club organised by the Women’s Council of “Silk Road“ International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, for their active participation in this event!
