On 18 May 2023 the head of the Women’s Advisory Council of “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage M.Abbasova organized an event among female students on the theme “National folk games are the pride of the nation's youth”.In her speech Head of the Council said that the folk games of Uzbekistan have their past, rich history, are passed from ancestors to generations by inheritance, our spiritual wealth. After all, for each of our national games has a special place in development of youth in all aspects - healthy, physically strong and resourceful.The fact that through the wider promotion of a number of national games, now forgotten, they follow the healthy lifestyle of our young people, together with their intellectual potential, remind them again of the ancient folk games that serve their adult physical improvement, is the initial aim of the event.Following this, the female students, divided into groups, began skillfully demonstrating such age-old folk games as “Kim oladi-yo shuginani-yo” from simulation games, “Halinchak” from action games, “Oq terakmi - ko‘k terak” from word-action games, “Besh tosh”.  Each folk game presented by the participants of the event was observed by the participants and the organisers.“Each of our folk games requires courage, bravery, truthfulness and resourcefulness,” said Fatima Bakhromkulova, one of our female students who took part in the event. The young people who took an active part in completing the event were awarded a badge of honour from the University Women’s Advisory Council and souvenirs.

On 18 May 2023 Rebik Sabanovic, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Croatia in Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan and Governor of the Croatian National Bank, Boris Vujcic, visited “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage. Rector of “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage A.Abdukhakimov personally welcomed the honoured guests. The purpose of the visit was to acquaint the guests with the university and establish friendly cooperation.

In this meeting, stating that they have heard many times about “Silk Road” International University and the Croatian guests are ready to cooperate with the university.

On 18 May 2023, Deputy Procurator General of Uzbekistan Salom Samadov visited “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage and was personally welcomed the Rector of the international university, A.Abdukhakimov. In his welcoming remarks, rector A.Abdukhakimov expressed his deep gratitude to Procurator General Samadov for his visit and his interest in developing education and the tourism industry in the country. He emphasised the importance of strengthening the partnership between the university and law enforcement agencies in the fight against crime, especially in the protection and preservation of cultural heritage.

Procurator General Samadov expressed his appreciation to the rector and his team for their contribution to the development of the tourism industry and the training of highly qualified professionals. He noted that tourism plays a key role in Uzbekistan’s economic growth, and cooperation with an academic institution such as “Silk Road” International University contributes to the development of this industry.

In conclusion, the visit to “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage by the Procurator General of Uzbekistan, Salom Samadov, marked an important stage in cooperation between the government and educational institutions in the quest to develop tourism and preserve cultural heritage.

Cooperation between Silk Road International University and the Procurator General’s Office of Uzbekistan opens the door for the creation of joint programs and initiatives aimed at training highly qualified personnel in the field of tourism, as well as combating and preserving the illegal trade in cultural property.

On May 17 of this year, a delegation of the Wuhan Coupling Medical Group headed by its representative “Yang Zhengrong” visited “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage.

The purpose of the visit is to seek cooperation in the field of education and, more specifically, the possibility of opening a medical tourism department at “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), which is a world intangible cultural heritage.

During the visit, the sides discussed plans to open a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) hospital in Uzbekistan by “Wuhan Coupling Medicine Group”, as well as the possibility of creating a medical tourism department at “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, where “Wuhan Coupling Medicine Group” would be responsible for providing professional TCM teachers and training students.

On May 17 this year, representatives of Karaganda University named after academician E.A.Buketov headed by rector Dulatbekov Nurlan Orinbasarovich, who is a corresponding member of Kazakhstan National Academy of Sciences, doctor of law, visited “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage.

During the meeting, the sides discussed the prospects of academic exchange, development of joint training programs for students and teaching staff of both universities, organization of joint research projects and scientific conferences, holding joint seminars and scientific conferences and implementation of joint innovative projects with the possible involvement of interested investors from Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, as well as other countries.

Guests were impressed by the organised infotour, the management model and the advanced technology used in the teaching process, as well as the unique historical elements of the Great Silk Road, the galleries installed and the university laboratory.

Also within the meeting the parties discussed possibilities of cooperation on professional development of the teaching staff of Silk Road International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage and Kazakh universities on the basis of the professional development training institute under Karaganda University named after academician E.A.Buketov, where students will receive certificates both at “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage and at Karaganda University named after academician E.A.Buketov.

The organisers are confident that the infotour will give added impetus to further expand mutually beneficial cooperation and attract faculty members from Karaganda University to “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage.

On 17 May 2023, a group of administrators and professors-teachers of Nanjing Institute of Tourism and Hotel Business (China) visited Samarkand Techicum of Tourism and Cultural Heritage. During the visit, Nanjing Institute made suggestions on introducing methods of teaching Chinese cooking technology to the students of the technicum and agreed to provide the technicum with equipment in this area.

On 17 May this year, a delegation of Nanjing Institute of Tourism and Hotel Business of China leading by Vice-Rector Huang Bin visited “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage.

First Vice-rector J.Eltazarov and Deputy Head of Education and Science Development Department of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Uzbekistan J.Matkarimov welcomed the honoured guests. During the meeting, the two sides discussed prospects of cooperation in the educational sphere.

During the visit, issues of cooperation between the two sides on the establishment of a public catering program (Chinese cuisine zone) at the international culinary school based in Samarkand Technicum of Tourism and Cultural Heritage were discussed. An agreement has been reached on setting up a teaching laboratory on Chinese cuisine, equipping it with modern facilities and training Chinese chefs, as well as on ensuring mobility of faculty and students of the two universities and advanced training of “Silk Road” University teachers on the base of Nanjing Institute of Tourism and Hotel Business.

During the negotiations, the sides noted the significant results achieved in Uzbek-Chinese cooperation in education, and emphasized the marked increase in the mutual interest of young people of the two countries in the history, culture, language and traditions of the peoples. Both sides supported continuation of bilateral visits.

An agreement on mutual cooperation between the two universities was signed during the visit.

Examination procedures for applicants who have applied for the qualifying examination in the speciality of 08.00.17-“Tourism and hotel activities” at the Silk Road International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage has been scheduled to take place at 2:30 p.m on May 18, in room 108 of the university building.

Candidates are asked to come to the place of the qualifying examination half an hour before the beginning time together with their personal identification documents (passport) as well as researchers’ dissertation abstracts.

Ergashev Ramziddin, a senior student of “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, participated in the “IBRAT” language camp, organized by the Youth Affairs Agency of the Republic of Uzbekistan, on the topic “Top 100 Universities” learned how to prepare strong application for top 100 universities of the world.

  • It should be noted that the camp is absolutely free and 7,500 people applied for its 2 seasons this time, and about 200 of them were accepted for the season devoted for bachelor’s degree and another 200 for the season devoted for master’s degree.
  • To participate in the “IBRAT” language camp, it is necessary to have a good knowledge of English, to be an active student to be able to think outside the box. The next seasons of the camp are expected to be held in summer.
