was held at the Silk Road University on April 18 this year at the International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage "Silk Road" within the framework of the “Sarbon” project under the motto "Glorious and unique Culture", the festival "Culture and Traditions of the Peoples of the Silk Road" was organized.

The culture, traditions, and art of Korean, Kyrgyz, Azerbaijani, Turkmen, Uzbek, Indian, Spanish, Armenian, Georgian, Tajik, and Kazakh peoples were presented at the festival. Attractive melodies and dances really charmed the audience. 

The purpose of the festival is to instill in the minds of students a sense of pride, appreciation, and respect for cultural heritage. Such events, in turn, will serve as a basis for promoting our glorious and unique culture among the younger generation around the world, attracting tourists, giving birth to initiatives and ideas for the development of tourism.

On January 19, 2022, under the chairmanship of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, was held a video conference on the issues of radical improvement of the system of spiritual and educational work, strengthening cooperation between state and public organizations in this direction. At the meeting, special attention was paid to the issues of ensuring the sustainability of the socio-spiritual environment in the mahallas. 

It was announced that on the basis of the principle "Education is the engine of spiritual and educational progress", teaching staff and well–known intellectuals will be attached to each mahalla.

In this regard, on April 14 of this year, teachers of the "Silk Road" International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, including Gulrukh Nabievna Yusupova, visited the "Uray Elipok» mahalla of the Tailyak district of the Samarkand region. During the visit, was held a round table with activists of the mahalla "Uray Elipok".

At the meeting with the general public, were discussed current reforms, including issues of youth support and strengthening public health.

At the end of the event, the residents of the mahalla thanked the teaching staff of the “Silk Road” University and wished that such events would become regular.

On April 15 of this year, the teacher the "Silk Road" International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage of the Department of "Languages" Mirbabaeva D., held a creative evening of the French language for the second courses on the theme "The book is the mirror of the soul".

During the event, students told their selected poems in French, as well as during a brainstorming session, students conducted a stylistic analysis of statements and proverbs on the topic: "A book is a mirror of the soul."

At the end of the creative evening, active students were awarded diplomas.

On April 15 of this year, teachers of the Department of "Languages" Hamrakulov Timur, Ablakulova Iroda and Abdullayeva Kamila staged a performance with students of the first and second courses on the topic: "The Legacy of Oscar Wilde: Will Beauty Save the World".

The “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage regularly hosts competitions for the formation of innovative thinking among young people, the development of technological ideas in the field of modern tourism. A few days ago, another review competition was held among students participating in the “Best Start-up” program.

15 start-up projects took part in this competition. The authors of the best projects have been awarded monetary rewards.

So, according to the results of the competition, the winners were:

1st place: Application about spiritual tourism of Uzbekistan. Authors: Mamasharipov Kadirjon, Turakulov Shahzod, Rabbimov Akbarali, Zhononov Bakhtiyor (all third–year students). According to the authors, the application will soon work on Android and iOS operating systems;

2nd place: The Reborn project is a website and application that will provide any information related to tourism, including: destinations, hotels, transport, tickets, etc. Authors: Makhkamtoshev Abdumannon, Abdukhalikov Amir (both are second–year students);

3rd place: Website (portal) about the activities of students of the “Silk Road” University, in order to attract the attention of both local and foreign applicants and students. Author: Sobirov Madizhon (first year student).

Special attention was paid to the project of an electric car of third-year students Mardonov Diyor and Boybekov Kamron. Young inventors were awarded certificates with monetary equivalents that will help improve the electric vehicle project.

On April 15 of this year, in the mahalla "Chorbogtepa" of the Tailyak district, with the participation of the lecturer of the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage Mirbabayeva D., was held an event under the slogan "Education is the engine of spiritual and educational progress".

During the event, a video clip of the speech of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev was shown. Also, it was told about the Development Strategy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in five priority areas for 2022-2026, approved by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan. There was a discussion with the general public of the tasks defined in the State Program to ensure the execution and implementation of the Message of Sh.M.Mirziyoyev to the Oliy Majlis and the People of Uzbekistan.

The participants of the event shared the information expressed in the message of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan that "The threshold of a new Uzbekistan begins with school", told about the circles currently operating in secondary schools on the territory of mahallas. The participants and speakers provided relevant recommendations and instructions for improving the activities of the circles in these schools.

Also, graduates of the 11th grades and their parents were provided with detailed information about the directions and specialties available at the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage. The participants of the event received full and detailed answers to their questions.

In order to teach science and education to young people, to bring them the humanistic essence of Islam, the true values of Islamic culture, in-depth study of enlightened Islamic teachings, the vast spiritual heritage of our great ancestors, the formation of a strong shell of spiritual protection among the population, especially among young people, in relation to fanatical ideas, by strengthening religious and national tolerance and cooperation in society, April 15 of this year, students of the "Silk Road" International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, under the leadership of the University Youth Leader, was organized a mobile photo exhibition in the Assembly Hall of the Samarkand Regional Children's school "Barkamol Avlod", demonstrating "The true face of extremism, terrorism and missionary work".

According to the memorandum of cooperation signed between the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage and the University of Rouen Normandy, from April 18 to April 24 this year, it’s planned a visit to the Silk Road University of the Director of the Center for Tourism Studies of the University of Rouen Normandy - Professor Charles Edouard Houllier.

The purpose of the visit is to hold meetings in the form of a round table with scientific researchers and doctoral students in the field of tourism, determine measures for the selection of candidates, participation in grant projects and the joint implementation of scientific research.

From April 18 to April 23, Professor Houllier will hold various meetings with researchers and doctoral students of the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage and present various international grants in the field of tourism.

By the decision of the third meeting of the Supervisory Board of the Science Financing and Innovation Support Fund of the Ministry of Innovative Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated March 12, 2022, Odilov Akmaljon Odilovich was determined the winner of the program providing an opportunity for internships abroad.

The grant will enable A.Odilov to conduct his research at Columbia University (USA), which ranks 11th in the world ranking.

It is worth noting that in 2019, A.Odilov graduated from  Master's Degree program at the Tashkent Financial Institute with a degree in “Public Finance Management”. He is participant and winner of more than 20 International and domestic competitions.

On December 30, 2021, he successfully defended his dissertation for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Economic Sciences.

According to the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan №92 dated January 19, 2022, for the purpose of meaningful organization of free time for young people, on April 14, 2022, was held an "Evening of Poetry" at the "Silk Road" International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage. 

The event was attended by second and third year students under the guidance of teachers of Russian language and Literature Sabokhat Kurbanova, Nargiza Turdieva and Dilfuza Marupova.  Students read poems by famous authors in Russian. The talent and acting skills of university students aroused particular interest among those present. Each of the participants was able to convey the emotions and mood of the lyrical work.

According to the organizers, the holding of this event will become regular.
