The Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in India donated a new collection of unique books and magazines to the Library of the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage.

These books are devoted to the history, culture and tourism of India, as well as literature and architecture, which will undoubtedly be of great benefit to our teachers and students in the process of scientific research and studying.

It should be noted that under the leadership of the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Minister of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, Rector of the “Silk Road” University – Aziz Abdukhakimov, about 20 thousand books were delivered to the library in the shortest possible time in such areas as tourism, art, history, archeology , ethnology, geopolitics, economics, cultural studies, religious studies, design, sculpture, architecture, cultural heritage published in all corners of the world.

Diplomatic institutions of our country abroad also make their invaluable contribution to the Library Fund of the University.

On May 31 of this year, Director of the Department of Tourism of Prince William County (Virginia, USA) John Heather gave a guest lecture on the topic “Agritourism in Uzbekistan” for students of the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage.

In his speech, Mr. John Heather spoke in detail about the goals of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) project to develop agribusiness in Uzbekistan. In 2021, USAID announced a selection of concept applications among private agritourism enterprises in Uzbekistan to develop domestic and regional tourism. The selection was conducted by the Agribusiness Development Fund, a recently established USAID agribusiness development project.

“On a global scale, agritourism has proven to be an effective tool for rural development. As an additional source of income for small agricultural enterprises, agritourism improves rural infrastructure and creates new jobs. In Uzbekistan, an agrarian state with almost half of its population living in rural areas, agritourism has great potential and can become one of the main drivers of rural development” –   said Mr. John Heather.

This lecture provided an opportunity for students to get acquainted with the USAID agribusiness development project.

Prospects for women’s education

On May 31 of this year, Judge of the Samarkand Regional Economic Department Nurimov Orifjon Toshtemirovich held an open dialogue with students of the “Silk Road” University on the content explanation of the newly adopted “Program to Support Women’s Education for 2022-2026”.

During the open discussion, our students were informed about the latest developments in the field of supporting women’s education. In particular, it was noted that since the beginning of the new academic year, for the first time, interest-free loans for a period of 7 years will be introduced for girls studying at universities, technical schools and colleges to pay for education contracts.

How to get vaccinated?” with Asatov Oybek Sunnatullayevich, a member of the Qualification Board of Judges of the Samarkand Regional Court. Corruption is one of the evils that threatens the future of every nation and undermines its spiritual roots. Corruption interferes with the foundations of democracy and the rule of law, resulting in violations of human rights.

Where corruption reigns, a problem that worries humanity, hinders the development of society and undermines justice, there is no honesty. For this reason, regular preventive meetings are organized at the University.

May 24-27 this year, at the initiative of a group of moderators consisting of experts from the International Center for Educational, Scientific and Innovative Research “University 3.0” of the Tashkent State University of Economics, for employees of the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage responsible for the concept of “University 3.0” was held an online training seminar.

On May 30 this year, a delegation from France led by the Ambassador of France to Uzbekistan Aurelia Bouchez visited the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage.

The purpose of the visit was to get acquainted with the sights of the city of Samarkand, with the ancient history of the city, as well as with the activities of the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, as part of the development of Uzbek-French relations in the field of education and tourism.

During the visit, Ms. Aurelia Bouchez had an official conversation with the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Tourism and Cultural Heritage of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Rector of the “Silk Road” University A. Abdukhakimov. The parties discussed the prospects for cooperation in the educational field. The rector noted the need to maintain strong working contacts, as well as to establish an academic bridge for the unimpeded mobility of students and teachers of universities in both countries.

It is noteworthy that the French Ambassador to Uzbekistan Aurelia Bouchez donated unique books on architecture, museology, and gastronomic tourism to the Library Fund of the University.

“... These books will take a special place on the shelves of the library and raise the potential of knowledge in the field of architecture, cultural heritage and gastronomic tourism to a higher quality level” – rector A. Abdukhakimov noted.

In accordance with the mutual desire of the peoples of France and Uzbekistan to develop educational cooperation as the basis for the training of highly qualified personnel for the foreign economic relations of the two countries, having common priorities in the development of tourism and scientific research, the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage has maintained close cooperation with higher educational institutions of France.
