Today, Uzbek-Turkish relations demonstrate a qualitatively new round of their active and dynamic development, which testifies to the common aspirations of both states to further expand mutually beneficial cooperation.

Long and effective cooperation between the states to this day gives significant is the results in the form of major joint projects and effective initiatives in various fields.

So, on August 29 of this year, representatives of Pamukkale University (Denizli, Turkey), headed by Rector prof.Dr. Axmet Kutluhan, paid a working visit to the "Silk Road" International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage. The honorary guests were met by the first vice-rector of the University prof. J.Eltazarov.

During the official meeting, was signed a Memorandum of Understanding between universities in general and an agreement was concluded, which includes a plan for the development of joint educational programs, academic exchange both at the student and faculty levels in the format of scientific practice and programs for visiting professors, as well as joint work within various research projects.

In addition, the parties signed a cooperation agreement, according to which an exchange of students and teachers of humanities will be organized within the framework of the academic mobility program "Erasmus Plus". Restoration and preservation of cultural heritage, gastronomic tourism, as well as health tourism are promising areas of such cooperation.

The “Silk Road” University conducts an active student exchange program, implements the training of highly qualified personnel on the principles of integration of science, education and innovation, which consists in the formation and development of tourism in the Republic of Uzbekistan.

For reference: Pamukkale University is one of the largest universities in Turkey. Its structure includes 4 institutes, 10 faculties, 5 colleges and 8 professional lyceums. The scientific and teaching staff of the university has 1,700 people. The University participates in international exchange programs of students and teachers, at the same time occupying one of the first places in Turkey in terms of the number of foreign students. Currently, Pamukkale University has more than 40 signed international cooperation agreements with various universities around the world.

At the moment, the head of the Department of “General Professional and Special Disciplines” of the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage Odilov Akmaljon is conducting research at Columbia University in the USA (11th place in the world ranking).

This research is being implemented on the basis of a grant from the Ministry of Innovative Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan “Sending young scientists for short–term scientific internships in leading foreign scientific organizations” and a grant program from Columbia University “Cooperation with foreign scientists”.

Along with advanced training in the field of specialty, Akmaljon Odilov will undergo teaching practice at a higher educational institution in order to get directly acquainted with the education system of Columbia University and create new textbooks in cooperation with foreign specialists.

On the initiative of the Chairman of the Women's Council of the "Silk Road" International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage M.Abbasova in cooperation with the university doctor S.Tosheva was organized a medical examination of women working at the university.

The participation of a neurologist, cardiologist, obstetrician-gynecologist, surgeon, ophthalmologist in a medical examination, conducting examinations using an ultrasound machine helped to identify changes in health status, as well as hidden diseases. Accurate diagnoses were made for the identified diseases. During the inspection, about 85 employees got a medical examination. All the necessary procedures were prescribed to those who need medical care.

London International Model United Nations (LIMUN) is the largest university-level Model United Nations conference in Europe.

From February 25 to 27, this year, teachers and students of the International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage "Silk Road" took part in the London International Conference of the Model United Nations (LIMUN).

Most recently, the conference participants received certificates for their successful participation in the LIMUN 2022 conference.

The Conference aims to build an understanding of global challenges and governance amid youth that crosses borders of culture and nationality. Using the knowledge, experiences, and relationships they form at LIMUN and through other Model United Nations events, it is hoped that the next generation of world leaders will be equipped to face global issues with the spirit of international cooperation.

More generally, MUN encourages the development of skills essential to all fields of study and employment, such as strong leadership, innovative thinking and public speaking, negotiation, mediation and consensus-building, and the ability to rapidly form relationships with people of different backgrounds and cultures.

On August 19, 2022, representatives of the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage took part in the OCA International Online Conference with the support of ECG (London) on the topic: "Education in Central Asia and the CIS region".

The online conference brought together a team of experts, such as Marat Akhmedzhanov, Vice-Chairman of ECG and publisher of OCA magazine, Gareat Stamp - Chairman of ECG, professional writer, illustrator and editor, Mironshokh Uktamov - Head of the Department of International Cooperation and Rating of the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, Siddharth Saxena — Director of the Cambridge Forum of Central Asia and others.

During the conference, an interesting and useful discussion took place with foreign guests and experts from the UK, CIS countries and Central Asia, who shared the latest data on the state of education in Central Asia, as well as on university programs and innovations.

It is worth noting that this year the editorial board of the magazine plans to release a special issue of OCA "Education 2022". The goal of the project is to bring together Central Asian universities, experts and media representatives to promote education and research opportunities in the region.

 Choosing the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, you choose a secure future!

On August 20 of this year, the delegation of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China, headed by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to Uzbekistan, Ms. Jiang Yan, made an official visit to the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage.

The main purpose of the visit is the official opening ceremony of the Chinese Corner, within the framework of the upcoming SCO Summit.

The guests of honor were met by the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Tourism and Cultural Heritage of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Rector of the “Silk Road” University A. Abdukhakimov, as well as the first Vice-Rector J.Eltazarov.

During the introductory tour of the university, Ms. Jiang Yan was impressed by the management model and advanced technologies used in the learning process, as well as the unique historical elements of the Great Silk Road.

During the visit, the official opening of the Chinese Corner took place in the library of the "Silk Road» International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage. It is worth noting that the Embassy of the People's Republic of China has donated more than 550 books to the library, which are devoted to the history, culture and tourism of China, as well as museology, architecture and art, which will undoubtedly bring great benefit to our teachers and students in the process of scientific research and training.

Two historical national costumes of China were also presented during the ceremony.

The exchange of literary works is of great importance for a better understanding between the public of the two countries. The Chinese Ambassador noted that cooperation between the two countries is steadily developing in many areas, including cultural, humanitarian and educational, and the agreements reached between the leaders of our states are an important basis for this.

Also during his speech, A.Abdukhakimov stressed the need to maintain strong working contacts, as well as to establish an academic bridge for unhindered mobility of students and university teachers of both countries.

In the near future, with the support of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China and the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Heritage of the Republic of Uzbekistan, a competition on the theme "History and Culture of China" will be announced for students of the “Silk Road” University, following which the winners will be able to visit China for a deeper study of the language and its culture.
