As previously reported , on February 17th of this year, a meeting of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) Committee took place at the Art Residency, organized by the Committee for Tourism under the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Tourism Department of Samarkand Region, and the Silk Road International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage. The event was part of the Model United Nations (MUN) program. The topic of the event was Sustainable Tourism Development in the Context of Global Climate Change, and it was attended by young delegates representing 20 countries.

For reference: The Model United Nations (MUN) is an international simulation conference designed for students and young professionals, where participants represent the activities of the United Nations (UN) as representatives of various countries. This event provides young people with the opportunity to understand international diplomacy, negotiations, and global issues.

The main objective of the event was to develop effective solutions for adapting the tourism sector to climate change, preserving natural resources, and promoting sustainable tourism. Delegates presented the positions of their countries, exchanged views on the impact of climate change on the tourism industry, environmental safety issues, and strategies for developing sustainable tourism in the new global context.

As a result of the meeting, participants developed a series of recommendations. Specifically, proposals were made to strengthen international cooperation in eco-tourism, introduce energy-saving technologies in tourist destinations, and expand sustainable tourism development programs for local communities.

On February 18, a meeting with students was organized in the activity hall of the "Silk Road" International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, in connection with the month dedicated to preventing the spread of drugs and psychotropic substances among youth. The meeting was attended by responsible officials from the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the regional Department of Internal Affairs.

The event began with the screening of a video on the topic. Afterward, Colonel A. Matlyubov, Deputy Head of the Department for Combating Drug and Psychotropic Substances of the Ministry of Internal Affairs' Criminal Search Directorate, delivered a lecture on preventing the spread of drugs and psychotropic substances among youth.

It is no secret that today, some unscrupulous individuals in our society seek to profit by making young people addicted to drugs and psychotropic substances. Therefore, our youth must remain vigilant and aware. During the event, Dr. G. Sadullaeva, a narcologist from the regional Narcological Dispensary, provided detailed explanations about the negative consequences of drug addiction on young people's health.

The meeting was conducted in a friendly and interactive atmosphere, allowing students to ask questions and receive answers from the officials of the regional Department of Internal Affairs.

On February 17 of this year, a meeting was held in the activity hall of the "Silk Road" International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, with the participation of responsible officials, university activists, and first-year students. The meeting aimed to familiarize students with advanced ideas, suggestions, and initiatives, and to address their problems. The event was held under the slogan "Knowledge Against Ignorance" and featured a discussion with Sohibnazar Boymurodov, the head of the Regional Department of the Committee on Religious Affairs of Samarkand, on the topic “Protecting Youth from the Influence of Radical Ideological Movements.”

During the meeting, examples were provided on the relationships between the state and religion, the true essence of Islam, and the dire consequences of falling under the influence of radical and extremist ideologies.

Today, every student has the opportunity to actively use social media. In this process, various banned extremist groups try to lure students with their harmful ideologies. Therefore, it is crucial for every young person to stay alert and vigilant. Additionally, the meeting also addressed the culture of dressing in higher education institutions and the importance of adhering to appropriate norms, providing students with essential recommendations.

The event, conducted in an open dialogue format, allowed students to ask questions and receive answers on topics that interested them.

Friendly Competitions Under a Single Slogan

A chess competition was held among the students residing at the Student Dormitory of the "Silk Road" International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage under the slogan "We Are Against Drugs!" 

Students who demonstrated mastery in moving the chess pieces emerged as the winners of the competition. At the end of the event, the winning students were awarded commemorative gifts.

The Agency for Innovation Development under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan announces the competition "Startup and IT Projects in the field of factoring" within the framework of the "Future Scientist" competition to provide state support for the results and initiatives of innovative activities of talented young people in our country.

Requirements for competition participants:

- competition participants must be citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan;

- competition participants must not exceed 40 years of age, regardless of age, academic degree, title, position and place of work;

- 1 participant must participate with 1 project.

Requirements for startup projects submitted to the competition:

- the startup project must be related only to the Factoring sector;

- the startup project differs from traditional types of business by its scientific novelty or innovative element;

- the startup project is aimed at solving a specific problem in society and the economy;

- a clear indication and justification of the necessary funds for the implementation of the startup project;

- the startup project must clearly indicate the implementation mechanisms, deadlines and first results;

- the amount of funds requested for the implementation of the startup project is up to 3000 times the base calculation amount;

- the presented startup projects must strictly comply with the requirements of the competition, the startup project materials must be reliable and plagiarism is not allowed, and must also be designed taking into account the established requirements;

- the maximum period for the implementation of startup projects should not exceed 12 months;

- the authors of the startup project are personally responsible for the accuracy and reliability of the information provided about the startup project, the complete and timely high-quality implementation of the expected results specified in the tasks of the competition programs.

On February 14th of this year, the  "National Clothes Week" was announced under the slogan "National Values and Their Role in the Spirituality of the Nation." The week was organized at the "Silk Road" International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, with the goal of promoting our national attire among the university’s professors, staff, and students. To support this initiative, most of the university staff and students came dressed in clothes made from traditional fabrics such as adras, atlas, and bekasam, showcasing our people's rich cultural heritage.
