On February 20, 2025, a delegation led by representatives from SIRIM Academy Malaysia and JICA in Malaysia visited the "Silk Road" International university of tourism and Cultural Heritage

During the visit, a seminar on "Standards for Muslim-friendly tourism" was organized for the university's professors, students, and representatives of the tourism sector operating in Samarkand.

The seminar provided participants with detailed information about the activities of JICA and SIRIM, as well as their experiences in the tourism industry. Additionally, important recommendations and concepts for properly organizing the halal tourism certification system were presented.

GIZ delegates delivered speeches on Sustainable Tourism Development in Uzbekistan

On February 17, 2025, “Silk Road” International University of tourism and cultural heritage invited Delegates for GIZ to talk about sustainable tourism development in Uzbekistan. 

The seminar was moderated by Vice-Rector for science and innovation Tongqian Zou. Firstly, Ms Beatie Schoreit, the Head of Sustainable Project gave a brief introduction to the contributions of GIZ to the sustainable development of Uzbekistan. Then, Mr. Mels Kosnazarov, Director of NGO “Destination Management Organization of Karakalpakstan” delivered his speech titled: “DMO Karakalpakstan: Tourism Development through Destination Management”. He introduced the destination marketing activities for Karakalpakstan in recent years. Lastly, Mr. Ajiniyaz Seytakhov, the Law Specialist of NGO “Destination Management Organization of Karakalpakstan, delivered a speech titled:"The Role of Legal and Regulatory Acts in the Development of Tourism Infrastructure in Uzbekistan". Lawyer Seytakhov explained the evolution of legal and regulatory acts of tourism infrastructure in Uzbekistan, and pointed out the future direction of development in Uzbekistan.

MA and PhD students of our university actively participated in the discussion about tourism marketing, infrastructure development in Uzbekistan.

The interest of high school graduates from general education  schools in the "Silk Road" International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, whose influence is growing day by day, is high. Cooperation between tutor and psychologist

Today, on 19 February, the psychologist of “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage D.Turdieva and tutor M.Tilavov organised a psychological training on the theme “Realise yourself” for first-year students in groups Man-124 and IR-224.

At the event the students were given psychological recommendations on how to overcome conflict situations and stress, as well as practices to prevent emotional burnout and tension. There was also an interactive talk on the correct formulation of a goal and ways to achieve it. The students demonstrated by example how to overcome obstacles on the way to achieving the goal. The psychological training, which took place in a positive atmosphere and high spirits, gave the participants motivation and positive emotions.

Today, on February 19, at the  "Silk Road,"  International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage  a competition was held among first-year students under the slogan "We support a healthy lifestyle" within the framework of the "Anti-Drug Campaign" month. The uniqueness of this competition was that, instead of traditional checkers pieces, fruits and sweets were used during the game.

Today, on February 19th, the next meeting of the "Leader Girls" club, established under the Women's Advisory Council of the "Silk Road" International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage , was held under the leadership of M. Abbasova, the chairperson of the council.

During the meeting, M. Abbasova, the chairperson of the council, talked about the current activities and future plans of the club. Many female students with leadership potential are studying at the university. The main task today is to raise mature and active girls by attracting such students to the club. The event also included an open dialogue on the topic "Towards Great Goals," where several questions were posed to the members. First-year students actively participated in the meeting and made presentations.
