The Uzbekistan Silk Road International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage recently participated in the China EuroAsian Expo: China-Central Asia Industry-University-Research-Application Cooperation Conference in Urumqi, China. The university delegation, led by Professor Tony Zou and Teacher Assistant Akmalbek Davronov, played an active role in the conference aimed at fostering closer ties between Central Asian and Chinese educational and research institutions.Chinese Minister of Education, Huai Jinpeng, Uzbekistan Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, Sharipov Kongratby Avezimbetovich, and officials, rectors, and professors from 72 universities in 13 countries including Pakistan, Russia, France, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Sudan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Singapore, Iran and the United Kingdom attended the conference.Vice Rector was appointed as visiting Professor by Xinjiang University of Finance and Economics, and invited to deliver a speech on “AI and Smart Destination” for the teachers and students. Professor Zou and Mr. Davronov engaged in high-level discussions with representatives from various universities, research centers, and industry leaders. The focus was on identifying and developing collaborative opportunities in tourism and cultural heritage education, research, and application. Key topics included the integration of innovative teaching methodologies, joint research projects, and the development of practical applications that leverage the rich cultural heritage of the Silk Road region.

The society has established close relations with the Motherland and the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Turkey, where the children of our second and third generation compatriots are taught the Uzbek language and culture, Uzbek customs and traditions. Based on the agreements reached between the society and our university last year, books and albums on Uzbek language and literature, Uzbek culture and history, and national crafts were donated to the society.According to the request of the Board of the Society, starting from September of this year, distance Uzbek language classes will be organized by the best pedagogues-teachers of our university for the children of the members of the Society of Turkestans, cooperation in the field of culture and education will be continued in various forms.At the end of the meeting, the members of the Society thanked the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Tourism Committee and the authorities of Silk Road International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritag.

Zh.d.Eltazarov made a presentation on «Historical, cultural and literary relations between Uzbekistan and Turkey» at the Institute of Turkological Studies of Istanbul University, Republic of Turkey.

The event was attended by Director of the Institute of Turkology of Istanbul University Prof. Aishe Zishan Furat, Deputy Director of the University of Istanbul Sait Turkan, Head of the Language Center Mehmet Yalchin Yilmaz, Associate Professor of the Department of Modern Turkic Languages and Literature Raile Kashgarly, as well as doctoral students and masters of the university.

The presentation provided detailed information on the long-term joint history, cultural heritage and literary ties of Uzbekistan and Turkey. It was also decided to strengthen research and education programmes by organizing short intensive lectures in cooperation with Istanbul University, Joint research and opportunities for young researchers to study and conduct research.

The presentation impressed professors and researchers at Istanbul University.

Summer school Attention students!

Students registered for Summer school are requested to participate in classes based on the given schedule from July 1, 2024. Students registered for Summer school are requested to participate in classes based on the given schedule from July 1, 2024. Classes are conducted in an offsite format and student attendance is monitored.The courses given in the schedule will last for two weeks and then a new schedule will be sent for two weeks.Students who have not registered for summer school can register in room 101 on Monday.

Today on 27th June, a solemn ceremony was held to open the Center for Chinese Books at our university. This significant event was organized by the International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage "Silk Road" and the publishing house "People's Daily". The center will serve as an important cultural hub, fostering deeper cultural connections between Uzbekistan and China. As part of the opening, 1000 books were presented, and a valuable dialogue took place between youth representatives from both countries. Discussions focused on culture, education, and international cooperation, promoting mutual understanding and friendship between the peoples of China and Uzbekistan.

On June 25, the International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage “Silk Road” opened its department “Uzbek Studies” at the Istanbul University of Turkey.
