Today, the girls of the 2nd stage Log-123 group have showcased their national costumes.
At the "Silk Road" International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, Mr. David Ding, the CEO of the "Silk Road by Minyoun" , gave a lecture to students on the development of the "Silk Road" Tourism Center in Samarkand and shared very important industry-related information.
Mr. David Ding emphasized the harmony between Uzbek history and modern amenities at the Samarkand Tourism Center, which aims to attract international tourists. Students discussed topics with the CEO such as the return on investment, payback period, break-even point, and future development plans.
The seminar was conducted by Tongqian Zou, the Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation at our university. During the lecture, our university’s master's and doctoral students actively participated in the discussion on tourism development issues in Samarkand.
Today, on February 12th, a roundtable discussion was held for the students of the "Silk Road" International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage within the framework of the "Fight against Drug Addiction" month. During the "Awareness Hour," the topics "We are against drug addiction" and "Awareness is the need of the time" were discussed, highlighting the consequences of drug addiction and the importance of students and young people being aware when using social networks.
Today, on February 11, at the "Silk Road" International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, as part of the Hour of Awareness classes, a series of discussions were held for students of groups TH-124 and Mar-124. The discussions focused on the need for awareness in social life and when using mobile networks in this fast-developing era. The students also shared their opinions on this topic and received answers to the questions that interested them.
On January 27, 2025, “Silk Road” International University of tourism and cultural heritage invited Mr. Rustam Kobilov, Vice Governor of Samarkand Region to talk about tourism development in Samarkand on the Lecture Hall for Tourism and Culture Leaders. Vice Governor delivered an insightful speech titled: "Tourism Development Strategies of Samarkand Region."
Mr. Rustam Kobilov analyzed the potential of Samarkand’s tourism industry. As one of the most beautiful and mysterious cities in Uzbekistan and crossroad of the Great Silk Road with more than 1500 architectural monuments, which makes Samarkand a popular destination to develop cultural tourism, gastronomic tourism, mice tourism and eco tourism.
About the future development of Samarkand, Mr. Rustam Kobilov emphasized that the government now is making great effort to make Samarkand a better tourist destination. For example, the construction of the “SILK ROAD SAMARKAND” touristic center, Samarkand international airport, Samarkand city tour bus and tourist villages. Besides, Samarkand has hosted several major international events in recent 3 years. And Samarkand is trying to attract more tourists from Russia, China, Japan, Indonesia and Iran by opening more flight routes.
The seminar was moderated by Vice-Rector of science and innovation Tongqian Zou, MA and PhD students of our university attended this seminar, and actively participated in the discussion about the tourism development strategy of Samarkand Region.
On February 3, 2025, the Silk Road International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage hosted its fourth Lecture Hall for Tourism and Culture Leaders. The event featured Mr. Tazabay Uteuliev, CEO of Aral Sea Discovery, as the keynote speaker. He focused on sustainable tourism in Karakalpakstan. Mr. Uteuliev highlighted the devastating impact of Soviet irrigation projects on the Aral Sea ecosystem, which led to its severe shrinkage. He particularly emphasized the ecological transformations in Muynak and Sudochye Lake. CEO Uteuliev introduced the tourism development history and the growth story of his company-Aral Sea Discovery which business focuses on Aral Sea tourism.
The seminar was moderated by Vice Rector of science and innovation Tongqian Zou. All participants interacted actively to discuss about the future development of tourism and ecological restoration in the Aral Sea. This seminar helps us to understand the century disaster of ecology in Central Asia, and provides a good platform for further cooperation between our university and the tourism companies in Karakalpakstan.

Today, on February 7, psychologist of the International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage “Silk Road” Dildora Turdieva organised a motivational training “Goodbye, stress!”.
The interesting event told about the positive and negative sides of stress, which has become an integral part of modern man’s life, and ways to get rid of it. Various psychodiagnostic techniques, relaxation exercises became an excellent means of relieving inner tension, bringing mental balance and calmness. During the training, role-playing and mobile games organised to improve relationships in the group, to create a healthy competitive environment in the group, gave a positive mood to all participants.
Labour productivity depends primarily on the emotional state of a person. Mental well-being leads a person to a happy, healthy and successful life. This was the purpose of the motivational training conducted by Dildora Turdieva.
