January 14 is celebrated in our country as the Day of Defenders of the Motherland, the people who protect the sovereignty, territorial integrity, peaceful life and security of the population, and the day of the establishment of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The date of the holiday is associated with the following most important events in the history of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Uzbekistan: On August 31, 1991, the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On the Basics of State Independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan” was adopted. The statement “On the state independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan” published on the same day served as the legal basis for the establishment of our national armed forces. The Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On the establishment of the Ministry of Defense Affairs” dated September 6, 1991 is considered the first foundation of the industry. On July 3, 1992, in accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic, the Ministry of Defense Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan was transformed into the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Uzbekistan. On January 14, 1992, the decision of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On military units and military educational institutions located on the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan” is of great historical importance. According to this decision, the military structures on the territory of our country were taken over by the republic. On December 29, 1993, by the decision of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Uzbekistan, “January 14 - the Day of Defenders of the Fatherland” was designated.

       This holiday is considered to be a holiday not only for military servicemen, but also for our compatriots who have completed their duty in the army and thousands of young men who are going to serve tomorrow. In connection with this holiday, solemn events are held every year, our Motherland has always been proud of its brave and brave young men. Our young men consider it their duty to always be ready for the protection of the Motherland, considering their parents and family, the soil of the country where they live to be sacred.

The celebration of this holiday shows our nation’s boundless respect for its national army and pride for the young men of the Alps.

Rahimova Nilufar, a leading specialist of the Scientific Research Department, got the opportunity to conduct scientific research in the field of tourism at Konstanz HTWG in Germany, on the basis of a grant, within the framework of the Eastern Cooperation program of the DAAD (German Academic Exchange Servis) project.  We believe that Rahimova Nilufar's research study of the experience of Germany, will contribute to the development of tourism industry in Uzbekistan in the future!

In cooperation with the American Council on Education and the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan, a grant for the FEP (Full Education Teacher Development Program) was introduced. Among the 40 applicants-winners from Uzbekistan there is S. Jumanazarov, a teacher at the Department of Tourism Management of the "Silk Road" International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage. This internship allows our teacher to spend 4 months in the USA to gain international experience in order to improve curricula and programs in the field of tourism, improve the quality of education.
