On November 17 of this year, the Vice-rector for Academic Affairs of the “Silk Road” International University of tourism and Cultural Heritage. A graduate of Harvard University in the USA, Oxford University in the UK and Heidelberg University in Germany, Prof.J.Hoffmann, gave a lecture for students and teachers on the topic: "What is Cultural Heritage".

Professor Hoffmann is an expert in the social scientific study of religions. His lecture deals with how societies have shaped their identities  through culture, and how  humans over were shapes , distinguished, and described by their own cultural products.

It is worth noting that such lectures are planned to be held monthly.

On November 17 of this year, the director of the Kyrgyz Association of Tour Operators (KATO) Nurbek Saparov visited the "Silk Road" International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage. During the official visit a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the "Silk Road" International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage and the Kyrgyz Association of Tour Operators (KATO), the purpose of which is to establish partnerships and develop effective and mutually beneficial cooperation between the both sides for the implementation of projects in the field of education and tourism.

Mr.Nurbek Saparov held a guest lecture on "Tourism in Kyrgyzstan" for students, where he shared relevant information and the current situation in the tourism industry of Kyrgyzstan.

In turn, Nurbek Saparov expressed gratitude for the hospitality, and stressed that he would do everything necessary to implement discussed plans.

Today, representatives of the International Association of University Presidents (IAUP) paid a working visit to the "Silk Road" International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage.

Dr.K.Shengelia is a President of the Caucasus University (CU), President of the International Association of University Presidents (IAUP) and a member of the Steering Committee of the Network of Institutes and Schools of Public Administration in Central and Eastern Europe (NISPAcee).

Dr.G.Reisinger has been President of the Austrian University of Applied Sciences since 2004, and has been a member of the Board of the International Association of University Presidents since 2014.

During the meeting, was discussed issues of mutual cooperation, the creation of double and triple degree programs between Universities, focusing on the prospects of student exchange. At the end of the meeting, valuable gifts were exchanged between both sides.

May the flag of Uzbekistan always blow!

On November 18, 1991, was adopted in our country the Law "On the State Flag of the Republic of Uzbekistan". It means that the national flag is a symbol of State sovereignty.

The national flag of Uzbekistan waves during official visits of delegations of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the foreign countries, at the entrance to the Embassies of our country abroad and representative offices in International Organizations, at International Forums and Conferences, sports competitions. This sacred symbol, as the personification of peace and tranquility reigning in Uzbekistan, proudly waves on the buildings of state institutions, residences, enterprises and organizations, educational institutions.

The flag of our state, created on the basis of historical values and symbolizing our past, present and future, embodies the enormous national power, high intelligence and willpower that we absorbed with our mother's milk, her lullabies, the instructions of great ancestors.

The administration of the "Silk Road" International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage congratulates on this special date, and also wishes well-being and prosperity to our Motherland.

Master class on “Bakery Items”

Today, the teacher of the course "Planning and control for food and beverages operation", M.Vafokulova, together with 4th year students, conducted a practical lesson in the University Canteen, made in the style of a Cafeteria to implement theoretical knowledge they learnt during the class into a practice. During the lesson, students, under the strict guidance of the teacher, prepared a delicious meat pie, and current trifles. Conducting such practical classes in the future will allow students to learn even more deeply the basics and skills of restaurant business.

At the “Silk Road”, International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage representatives of law enforcement agencies held a seminar “Keeping young people from the flow of fanaticism on the basis of anti-ignorance education”.

The organizer of this event was the head of the department for youth work in mahallas and organization of events N.A.Abduvakhidova.

The head of the religious committee of the Samarkand Regional Khokimiyat S.Boymuradov who was invited to the seminar, stressed that terrorism is one of the most serious threats to peace, security and stability, infringes on human rights and counteracts the socio-economic development of our country. A particularly vulnerable part of our society is the youth, who in the age of globalization and free exchange of information are influenced by social networks.

Further, a specialist of the religious committee of the Samarkand Regional Khokimiyat S.Nazhmiddinova made a report, and paid special attention to the appearance, which is not characteristic of a secular state, and also gave illustrative examples.

The employee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Samarkand region for combating terrorism and extremism F.Mamatkulov, as well as an employee of the State Security Service A.Mamadierov paid attention to the aspects of the emergence and development of religious extremist ideas in various regions of the world, which also use attempts to involve the younger generation through propaganda by the media.

At the end of the meeting, students and teachers asked their questions and came up with the idea of forming ideological immunity among students, and also expressed gratitude to the guests of the seminar.

Today, the first vice-rector of the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, Prof.J.D.Eltazarov, presented the University Library with a wonderful collection of unique books. The books provided are rare scientific sources containing the latest research in the field of hospitality, management, history, and culture.

The collection consists of books brought by the first vice-rector during a working visit to the Republic of Turkey in order to participate in the symposium “The Past and Present of Uzbekistan”, held from November 10-14 this year in Ankara. A huge number of books on Turkish culture, as well as literary works, will soon find their readers and take pride of place on the shelves of the Library.

The University Administration and the Library staff express their sincere gratitude to the first Vice-rector of the “Silk Road” University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage Prof.J.D.Eltazarov for his generous contribution to the replenishment of the Library fund.

Ali Boran worked as a researcher, teacher, assistant professor, associate professor, head of department and dean at Selchuk universities for the hundredth year in Turkey from 1992 to 2016. In 1997, he defended his doctoral dissertation on the topic “Ichankala mosque and mosques in Onadul”.

Prof.A.Boran has taught such subjects as “Middle Asia-Anatolian Turkish architecture influences”, “The art of decorating in the first Islamic architecture”, “History of design”, “The role of kale architecture in Turkish art”, “The role of Mamlukli art in Turkish art”, “Boni artist attitude in design”, “Turkish art before Islam”, “Painting”, “Aesthetics”, “Research Project”, “Graduation study”. Prof.A.Boran has successfully defended about 20 doctoral dissertations.

During his visit,  was organized a trip along the University's “Smart Campus”. By Advisor to the rector of the University A.Ospanova was organized a meeting with professors and students, where were talked about the promising cooperation between universities in the field of cultural heritage, archeology, restoration.

At the end of the conversation, Professor presented his new book to the University’s Library and noted that soon he will contribute to the enrichment of the University library with new books.

Attention, the competition!

In honour of the Day of the National Flag of the Republic of Uzbekistan, a competition is held among the students for the most creative and patriotic photo and video.

The conditions are simple:

1. Take a picture with the flag using the hashtags #bayragim_gururim, #bayrol_30yoshda, #bayroq_kuni

2. Shoot a short video with the theme "The National Flag" of the Republic of Uzbekistan

3. Send photos and video to @silk_road_event

The results of the competition will be announced on November 18, 2021
