On April 23 of the current year, the first vice-rector of “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage D. Nasimov met with young people included in the “youth notebook” in Samarkand city mahalla “Semurg” in order to ensure the implementation of the state program of tasks set in the strategy of the President of Uzbekistan-2030 from February 21, 2024 and the year of support for youth and business.
At the meeting, the first vice-rector of our university was interested in the lifestyle, interests and plans for the future of young people. At the same time, the youth of the mahalla also told about the problems, plans that plague them.
For example, a resident of this mahalla, N. Musaev, a student of the 11th grade of a secondary school, told about his participation in the art game circle and expressed his desire to attend the circle to improve his skills in it. M. Israilova, who is registered in the youth book of the mahalla, told that she has one child and wants to learn the profession of a hairdresser. At the meeting all young people talked about their dreams, desires and plans.
The staff of our university outlined the necessary measures to provide practical assistance in working with responsible organizations in solving the problems of young people in this mahalla.
This academic year, out of 64 international students at our university, 59 are studying at the direction of postgraduate studies, 5 are full-time part-time bachelor's degree students.
The work of our university with international students is aimed at timely elimination of their problems and support of their proposals and initiatives through constant dialog. In this regard, today, on April 23, a meeting of the First Vice-Rector for Administrative Affairs, Professor D. Nasimov, with foreign students studying in the direction of master's degree at our university was organized.
At the meeting information was given about the work carried out at the university, plans for the future. In the course of open and sincere dialog, necessary instructions and instructions were given to those responsible for taking into account the opinions and questions of foreign students and necessary measures.
On April 19 of the current year, a delegation headed by the director of the Research Institute of Turkology of the International Kazakh-Turkish University named after Hodja Ahmad Yassaviy, Professor Dr. Bulent Bayram visited the university.
During the meeting with Professor Dilmurod Nasimov, First Vice-Rector for Administrative Affairs of the University, they discussed issues of further development of bilateral areas of cooperation and signing of the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan at the International Kazakh-Turkish University named after Khoja Ahmad Yassaviy dated January 12, 2024 "On the history and culture of Uzbekistan in foreign countries", reached an agreement on the establishment of a new department of "Uzbek Studies" in order to ensure the implementation of the Decree № PP-19 "On additional measures for the development of the Uzbek Studies Department". At the meeting, Prof. Bulent Bayram noted that universities of Turkey will also provide their practical assistance in the creation of this department.
On April 22 of this year, Lecturer Mahmud Emam of "Silk Road" International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage of Samarkand held a seminar on "Exchange of cultural heritage along the Silk Road and its reflection in the architecture of China and Uzbekistan" at the Khiva Technical School of Tourism and Cultural Heritage.
The first rule to always stay young and healthy is physical fitness. In order to further improve the physical fitness of our students, physical fitness competition among students of “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage is being held from April 22 to May 22, 2024.
The Agency for Innovative Development under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan announced the 86th "Women Scientists" competition.
This competition is organized within the framework of the priority area of research work in accordance with the decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On measures to further accelerate work on systemic support for families and women". Based on the results of the scientific expertise within the framework of the contest, the scientific projects that have scored the highest number of points are sorted on the basis of quotas allocated in the section on the direction of science. Scientific projects submitted to the competition www.grant.mininnovation.uz - through the unified intellectual electronic platform of state scientific programs, will be accepted only in electronic form until May 1, 2024.
Nadir Khushvaktov, a lecturer of the Department of History and Cultural Heritage of "Silk Road" International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, underwent a scientific internship at the University of Göttingen in Germany. This scientific internship was organized within the framework of the international grant of DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) program "European Perspectives in Dialogue: Central Asian and Western Research" ("European Perspectives in Dialogue: Central Asia and Western Research"). During the internship, studies on the history of Central Asia conducted at the University of Gottingen in Germany were analyzed. There was also a close acquaintance with unique sources on the history of Uzbekistan, kept in the German State Library in Berlin, and the history of Silk Road cities, kept in museums. Modern scientific and practical skills acquired by the teacher during the internship are effectively used in the course of lessons.
In order to improve the effectiveness of spiritual-educational activity among students and young people, to promote the culture of reading and wide reading, to further increase their interest in the book, to effectively and methodically organize promotional activity, the competition "League of Young Readers" among students of "Silk Road" International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage was held.

Dr. Jabrail Nokandeh, director of the National Museum of Iran, and Dr. Fereydoun Biglar, the deputy of the museum for cultural affairs, presented 16 volumes of books on the archaeology and history of Iran to our university. Volumes 1-4 of these books are about the archaeology and history of Iran, another volume is about the exhibition of the Netherlands at the National Museum of Iran and another one is about the books on the Louvre exhibition at the National Museum of Iran.
These books were delivered by Morteza Khanipour and Sepideh Jamshidi Yeganeh, assistant professors of the Department of "History and Cultural Heritage" at our university. The above-mentioned books include an introduction to the archaeological findings of Iran from the Paleolithic to the modern period. The books also provide information on the major archaeological finds of Iran, some of which are comparable in importance to those of Central Asia.
10 graduates of "Silk Road" International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage received a special certificate at Hilton Garden INN Hotel in Samarkand, having completed their internship. Our graduates were able to apply theoretical knowledge gained at the university in practice for a month. The hotel administration signed labor contracts with 3 of our graduates.
