“Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage will pay special attention to informing undergraduate and graduate students about socio-economic reforms carried out in our country, strengthening their theoretical and practical knowledge, closely familiarizing them with the activities of companies occupying leading international positions in Uzbekistan and conducting research work on their activities.
In order to ensure the implementation of the above tasks, on November 25, 2024, under the leadership of Associate Professor of the Department of Tourism, Ph.D. F.Zokhidov, assistants of the department S.Mardonov and A.Davronov in SAG MChJ was organized a round table on technical and organizational aspects of the process of product development, the order of trade of finished products in the local and international market, applied innovations in pricing policy, branding, production process, as well as on the activities of the enterprise “SAG Express”.
The participants were also familiarized with the activities of Samarkand silk carpets enterprise, the enterprise made a presentation on the development of carpets, processes of servicing tourists, branding and increasing sales.
During the visit, the participants identified the application of the acquired knowledge and skills in research work, development of scientific proposals and their reflection, as well as strengthening the work on practical cooperation.
On November 26, the Women's Council of “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage organized an event for children of teachers and staff working at the university on the theme “Reading begins with a reading family, a reading mother, a reading child”.
The event was attended by M. Abbasova, Chairperson of the Women's Council of the University, who spoke about the love for books, first of all, the beginning of a family, insisting that it is necessary to constantly encourage the young readers of the participants to increase their interest in reading books.
The event was attended by a member of the university's work with youth, the youth leader and the faculty's tutors, and parents.
A person visiting the Art Residence at our university feels as if in a unified creative environment.
In order to organize the free time of our students in a meaningful way, a group of 3rd year students under the guidance of tutor S. Abbasova got acquainted with the samples of creativity in the Art Residence. Various paintings of famous artists on the walls, samples talking about the current state of the Aral Sea made a great impression on the students.
In free time of our students with tutors continue visiting various spiritual places and museums.
On November 22-23, 2024, at Urgench State University it was held the Republican Forum of psychologists “Psychological Health of Students in the Digital World: Problems and Solutions”, timed to the International Day of Psychologists. Dildora Turdieva, a psychologist of the Silk Road International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, took part in the event also.
The forum was devoted to such topics as methods of preventing addiction to gadgets and social networks, formation of digital hygiene in higher education and the negative impact of digital addiction to the educational process of students.
On November 25, the Head of the Tourism Department,
A.Odilov, delivered a lecture for the MKT523 group of the Faculty of Tourism at Universiti Teknologi MARA, ranked 587th in the international QS ranking, upon the invitation of Professor Dr. Jati Kasuma Bin Ali. The lecture was dedicated to the topic "Brand Management" as part of the course Innovation and New Product Planning | BA2703A&3B in the group's curriculum. During the lecture, students were provided with comprehensive information about Uzbekistan's tourism opportunities and the university's activities.
On November 22 of the current year successfully passed the qualification exam on specialty 08.00.17-tourism and hotel activity.
Examination processes were organized in accordance with the established procedures and rules, on the principles of transparency and openness. All participants showed their knowledge both in theoretical and practical terms.
On November 23 of this year, representatives of international media and bloggers, consisting of participants of Global Travel Media campus, visited our university under the program “the first Global Travel Media Campus in Uzbekistan”.
The 30 journalists and bloggers from China, Kuwait, Pakistan, Indonesia, India, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Latvia are mostly journalists and bloggers from the global tourism industry. The guests also got acquainted with the Tourism Academy and the opportunities opening in it, the conditions created for young students.
Today, in order to organize the free time of students and youth in a meaningful way, various events, round tables and trips are held.
Thus, on November 20, a group of our students watched a performance in the regional musical-drama theater of Samarkand, prepared on the plot of the historical visit of Indonesian President Sukarno to the Temple of Imam Bukhari. This realistic, event-based production not only made a great impression on the student youth, but also once again raised the level of respect for our great ancestors.
For the students of our university the department of youth work organized a propaganda campaign on the theme “We are supporters of a healthy lifestyle!”.
Every year December 1 is traditionally celebrated as “World AIDS Day”. This date is designed to attract the attention of the general public to the issues of fighting AIDS and to organize large-scale propaganda activities.
On November 6, the International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage “Silk Road” and Samarkand HIV and AIDS Center jointly held an action “We are for a healthy lifestyle!”, where the doctor-epidemiologist of Samarkand HIV and AIDS Center D. Suleimanova and doctor of our university S. Mustafakulova, inspector of our university S. Mustafakulova. Mustafakulova, the university prevention inspector Sh. Kurbanov, a group of tutor P. Islamov gave the students necessary recommendations on the origin of HIV and AIDS, information on the impact on the person and commitment to a healthy lifestyle.
At the last event, which was filled with ebullient questions and answers, students received important information on the topic.
University continues to consistently develop academic and practical cooperation with leading German international organizations. In this context, Eiko Otto, consultant for tourism and regional development of the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) visited our university.
During the visit, Mr. Eiko Otto raised the issue of developing cooperation in the direction of sustainable tourism with the management of our university and the department of tourism. During the conversation, it was mentioned about the possibilities of attracting professors and teachers of the prestigious Vienna University of Austria and leading European universities to our university and implementing joint projects.
This meeting was a practical expression of our university's aspirations to expand the scope of international cooperation, to create opportunities for students to exchange knowledge and experience at a global level.
